My overall experience. Love the grounds they were exceptional, staff was above and beyond helpful, food was great-- My overall experience was one of complete relaxation and serenity. !!
HOWEVER, THE DECOR NEEDS A FACELIFT. I loved the antiques and the feeling of the inn but all the couches and chairs were extrenmely old, and very uncomfortable. In my room I was afraid to sit on the couch it was so old and dirty. I had a mud treatment which was amazing but the room was like a brown tiled cave from the 70"s and it really lost its "spa" feeling for me, I may be spoiled but I have been to many destinations spa's and this one is in dire need of a facelift, especially based on the price point . NOW THAT STATED, WHEN I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ROOM I WAS GIVEN A FULL REFUND FOR MY ROOM FOR ONE NIGHT WHICH I THOUGHT WAS INCREADIBLY KIND, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS. Just a couple of tucks and nips will do, and I will be running back for more.

“Everyone must experience this in their lifetime!”

Ste. Anne's, a Haldimand Hills Spa

This was my second visit to St. Anne's Spa and the experience was just how I remembered so I was impressed once again with my time there. Every detail is taken care of for you. We took the train from Toronto and were picked up upon arrival in Cobourg. The service is over the top without being intrusive to your time there. The facilities are wonderful, the treatments amazing, the food delicious and healthy, the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing (spending your time there in a white terry robe)....all to make an escape from the demands of life a truly zen and wonderful experience that everyone needs to have at least once in a lifetime. I can't wait to go again.

My husband and I badly needed some pampering. We could not have come to a better place. The atmosphere was relaxed and luxurious. The spa employees were excellent and really knew what they were doing. My seaweed wrap was wonderful. My husband loves deep tissue massage and has had difficulty finding a therapist who knows how to do this properly. He was very pleased with his massage.
We stayed in the Maud Watt Suite. It was beautiful with two wonderful wing backed chairs by a fire. The king size bed was hard to get out of. We asked for dinner and breakfast in our room. This was not a problem and the food was excellent as the rest of the Inn. We simply did not want to leave at the end of our stay and will be coming back as soon as we can.
I would highly recommend St. Anne's Inn and Spa if you need a break from a hectic life.

Ste. Anne's Spa
April 2008

My friend and I always plan a "Mom's Only" week-end once a year and this year we decided to pamper ourselves by doing a spa week-end, something we have never tried before.

Ste. Anne's Spa is located in a sleepy farming setting, easily accessible from the 401 highway. When we pulled up to the quaint stone "farmhouse", we were immediately struck by the peaceful setting and incredibly welcoming staff. We honestly were treated like royalty. We stayed 2 nights (even though some people use the spa for day treatments) and were pampered like queens. Our room was in the older wing of the house and was incredibly clean and charming, with its Victorianesque wallpaper, feather-like beds, fireplace and cute, full bath. "Serenity" and "tranquility" are definitely the main themes for your stay as we were amazed by the quiet (cell phones are not permitted, no telephones are in your rooms, you may request a DVD player /screen for your room but rooms do not have televisions). Muted classical music floats in the air and helps you to feel at peace with the world. Clientele lounge around all day in their bathrobes (loaned to you by the spa), shuffling between spa treatments, patio lounge chairs outside, incredibly amazing meals, soaks in hottubs, Eucalyptus steam saunas, wellness classes, and their rooms. You only need to get dressed (and still casually) for dinner. Honestly, this was like paradise for my friend and I (2 stressed out working moms).

I would highly recommend this destination to anyone, male or female (even though women are the dominant sex at the establishment). It wasn't cheap but it was truly worth every dollar.

“Exceeded Our Expectations”

I booked our (my husband and I) trip for our annual Valentine's Day getaway. The phone service (directly with Ste. Anne's) was outstanding. They worked around our schedule, gave us many options and helped us narrow down our choices based on our preferences.
Upon arrival at the resort, we were immediately greeted, given a seat and some warm cider and began to relax. After battling weather (snow storm) and Toronto traffic, this greeting was the best we've ever received around the world. A kind gentleman then asked us to leave our bags and gave us a relaxing tour of the facilities (wow!). We were given our keys to our room, a personalized guide (with spa bookings and other optional activities) and map. Upon dropping our bags in our room (and debating whether or not to leave the phenomenal Frances Hopkins room), we decided to walk around ourselves and enjoy the afternoon tea. The afternoon tea session included delicious cucumber sandwiches, salad, etc. and unlimited high-end tea from their extensive tea list (including other beverages). This tea session definitely set high expectations on the meals. Well, even the meals exceeded our expectations. These meals were better than most of the meals that we've enjoyed at the very expensive restaurants in Toronto! The spa services, as well, were relaxed, informative and thoroughly enjoyable. The friendliness of the staff (everyone) was incredible. We were always greeted with a smile and never felt uncomfortable (except when my husband began his first yoga class, but the instructor quickly made him feel at ease)! The entire vibe of the resort was great. We have since made important lifestyle changes (my husband now sees a naturopath regularly - by choice). If I knew how great Ste. Anne's spa was we would've made the trip many years ago. We very much look forward to our next visit. As a completely dedicated spa attendee, I have alerted all of my friends of this fantastic resort which caters to everyone!
