If you need to see things that will bring your heart peace and joy by just seeing them, then travel to Prince Edward Island. You cannot take a bad photograph. My sister and I plus two friends, arrived on the island mid June. Everywhere we drove, our eyes roamed over lush fields and darling, well kept houses and quaint boat docks and lighthouses and wild lupin in full bloom, three colors mixed together, decorating the sides of the roads. It was like driving through a postcard. We stopped frequently on the lightly traveled roads and wandered in different directions to capture what we saw on film so we could enjoy our trip again, back home.
We stayed at the "kindred Spirits Cottages," in Cavendish which were roomy little homes. They were well kept and the grounds were spacious. They have a beautiful game and laundry room. I splashed in the pool and soaked in the hot tub after a day of bicycling.
Next door was "Green Gables." We wandered outside the house for quite a while to enjoy the beautiful landscaping. It was not crowded that day so we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the rooms inside. "Anne," the musical in Charlottetown was outstanding. I smiled the entire performance.
There are many attractions, but the scenery stole my heart. Cavendish Beach with it's wild dunes enchanted us. I sat and sketched them. It is a souvenier along with my memories. I must return someday.
