So disappointed by the standard of the food in this place I had to write my first ever review...
First impressions are good - the building is obviously stunning and the interior is fitted out nicely with a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the bar. You can eat either in the bar area or in the restaurant, with pretty much the same menu if memory serves.
New to the area, we are checking out the local eateries. Our first visit went thus; an age to get served by the waitress and constantly ignored by them as they walk past the table empty handed despite empty glasses / plates etc piling up. My starter (ribs) was ok, but my partner's baked Camembert was cold and pretty much solid. The waitress offed to replace it but when it returned it was melted but lumpy - too long in the microwave obviously! My steak was overcooked and all-in-all a not inexpensive meal was disappointing...
I'm one for giving places a second chance however, just in case it was an off night. In hindsight, a dumb move!
We ate in the bar this time. Once more a gaggle of waitresses hovering at the end of the bar ignored us and meandered past the tables empty handed. And once more, we had to return a course - the prawn pizza was cremated on the bottom with utterly raw toppings! 5 minutes later, the table next to us sent back a meal too, so can't just be me being picky?
To summarise, pop in here for a drink in the bar before you head somewhere that does decent food at a decent price!
