This is a much older hotel that has been converted into a Premier Lodge.
Sadly this means that the bedrooms are a lot smaller than the purpose-built lodges, as are the bathrooms.
The experience of staying here suffered as a result. There was hardly enough room to swing a cat in the bedroom. Additionally, the room was not fitted with the 'usual' comfy 6-ft bed normally found in Premier Lodges.
The bathroom was tiny and tired, with an old-fashioned shower producing a trickle of water so feeble that I had to move about in order to get wet.
Lack of double-glazing meant a fairly noisy night and the smell from the local chip-shop was unavoidable and unbearable at times.
I expected a lot more considering the 'posh' reputation of this area, but didn't find it here.
