I have rated rooms as one, but thats only because theres no option, if you didnt use them.
The whole family were very excited to visit on 15th may, (we come here, everytime were on holiday), pub was as lovely as ever. Menu had been recently changed and was abit of a let down.
Our 6 year old was looking forward to the childs bolognaise but no longer on menu, so had ribs, as there was nothing else that appealed to her. Usual, boring, kids menu, not very inspiring.
My Husband & i, really struggled to choose, so went with the hotdog. Its ok, but the cumberland ring in bap was much nicer. I wouldnt go all that way just for a hotdog again. The chips were horrible, not like the previous visit & arrived in a mini chip pan, which was cute, but didnt hold much.
The only table we could get, was by the small fire, (less than 3 feet away)which was very uncomfortable at 1st but eventually it died down abit. Unfortunately the landlady told us that more fuel would have to be put on, as that area gets cold. As, there was no way we could sit there for long, with fire blazing, we had to move to another room, as luckily someone had just left. If,there had been no room, we would have had to leave, as fire was much too near us.
To be honest, we didnt find landlady at all friendly this time, compared to previous review.
Usually we visit at least 4-5 times for evening meal, but this holiday, due to menu, it was only the once & would definately think twice about visiting again.
We've been visiting this pub for over 5 years, & although food used to be lovely, unless your local, you are never really made welcome.
