Daffodil at Banks Farm, overlooking beautiful fells, is pleasantly close to lakes and peaks, yet rests serenely away from crowds.
Beds are lusciously comfortable. The dining area is private and well-stocked with drinks and snacks. We woke each morning to a freshly-baked loaf and pleasingly-laid fruit plate. Teen served a warm farm breakfast later—at our convenience, with friendly conversation.
Modern, solid-oak furniture exemplifies that no corners are cut. The layout is clearly well-considered; the apartment has a crisp, fresh feel blended with artfully-exposed beams of the original building built about 1600.
Meals were delightful—don’t miss the optional dinner, we enjoyed, particularly, a fine shank of lamb with local vegetables—traditional Cumbrian fare. The sticky-top pudding is eye-poppingly good.
Hosts Teena & David Fisher are friendly and accommodating to any schedule. Their three young children are wonderful.
