A very friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere is to be found on arrival at The Old Lockup. It has genuine character and history as evidenced by the style of the rooms and memorabilia on show. Tim was an excellent host, offering drinks and cake on arrival before showing us to our room for the night. Our room, the Magistrates room, was beautiful, clean and very comfortable.
We had decided to book our evening meal at The Old Lockup and we were not disappointed - all three courses were delicious, and the steak and ale pie could have easily been mistaken for a Desperate Dan pie, it was fantastic! We were given a great choice for breakfast in the morning, and again all of it was cooked to perfection.
All in all, it was a great place to stay, with a great host and great food. We would definitely recommend it to others wanting something other than a run of the mill Bed & Breakfast.
