My second visit to Chillagoe Cabins. Beautifully appointed with the little things that make your stay just that bit more pleasurable. Outdoor swimming pool, lovely covered outdoor eating area, gorgeous little cabins - fully airconditioned with every comfort. The gardens are wonderful and the owner, Carolyn is "Mum" to the General, a rare black cockatoo that she saved and "Nelson" a male peacock that wanders around. Carolyn is very helpful with hints and tips to get the very best out of your Chillagoe experience - and it has many hidden wonders - from the caves, (both guided and one you can investigate on your own), incredible geological formations, wildlife in abundance, historic buildings from the mining days, including the smelter ghost town area.
