This was one of the highlights of our trip! We were the first to arrive and the staff greeted us with a rake and joking request to our 10 year old son to muck out the stables. While we waited for the other people to arrive the stockmen showed us how they train young cattle dogs with a young collie pup rounding up 3 ducks at whistle commands - it was hilarious and the kids were fascinated. The show was interesting, with herds of cattle and horses being rounded up from quite a distance away and brought running into the show field. The head stockman and woman explained how they worked, using horses and dogs as part of their display. There was music with a singer songwriter playing intermittently all through the show, and a funny clownlike character adding some silly humor to the show. The staff and stockmen and women all sat down and joined us at lunch which was a really nice touch.
