I am not always a fan of B&Bs. Sometimes they are less than clean, or the homeowner is either very in-your-face...or totally absent. But my stay at the Goodwin House changed my mind. A colleague and I stayed there, and we both loved our rooms. The jacuzzi tub - and separate shower! - in the totally clean bathroom made me deliriously happy. The bedding and towels were soft, clean, and luxurious. I absolutely LOVED the fireplace. (I was there on business, and I hated to leave the room to go to my meetings!) Robyn Morris, who runs the B&B, was totally awesome. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, fun to hang out with, and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. One morning, we had to leave for a meeting before 7am; Robyn got up and made sure that we had freshly-ground coffee and a great breakfast - and even though I overslept and didn't have time to eat, she packed it up so I could have a yummy "to go" breakfast to eat during our commute to the meeting. (How nice is that?!?) I will be returning to Burton this summer, and I plan to hook up with Robyn and take advantage of her vast experience with the Amish - and her great personality. If you plan to go to northeast Ohio, you definitely should stay at Goodwin House B&B!
