We stayed in a Suite with a queen sized bed and a sofa bed. We found the furnishings to be clean and almost new. The queen bed (memory foam?) and linens were wonderful. My wife was impressed with the “white” comforter that was still “white”. The sofa bed was in good condition but it was still a sofa bed. It was good enough for the kids but I’ll stick with the other one! There was one TV that had a rather large assortment of cable channels to choose from. The room had a small kitchen complete with a full size (small) refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, and utensils. The bathroom was normal size with a combination tub and shower that included a rounded shower curtain rod and adjustable shower head.
I found the person at the front desk to be friendly and helpful. We called room service after check-in to request more pillows for the children. We left our room before they had a chance to deliver them. When we came back the pillows were waiting for us.
The hotel appears to be rather new. I did notice that several of the light switch covers appeared to have be put on rather haphazardly. They were often off center and noticeably un-level. The metal ring that attached the shower head to the wall was loose and had fallen down around the shower head. Overall, the room was clean but I did notice a small stain near the base of toilet and what appeared to be a few cigarette ashes that had fallen onto the air conditioner by the window. I would imagine that someone was trying to “sneak” a smoke in this non-smoking room. We didn’t notice any smoke odor when we arrived. The hotel must be near a railroad. We heard a train go by while we were outside and it was noticeable. We only heard one other train during our stay and it was while we were in our room. If you didn’t know what it was, you’d think that it was just a semi-truck driving by.
The hotel has a free continental style “grab and go” breakfast. You can go to the lobby and pick up the usual (milk, juice, fruit, cereal, muffins, etc.) and bring them back to your room or eat them on the run. Great way to save a little money…
The hotel is located near several major highways in Columbus. You should be able to reach most of the attractions with less than a 20 minute drive. There are also several nice restaurants to choose from in the area.
Overall, we were pretty happy with our stay and are planning on coming back again. We paid $76.00 with the AAA rate. There are cheaper hotels in the area but not with a bed and kitchen like this. If you’re on a budget and have children I would highly recommend staying here. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s new, clean, safe, and pretty reasonable. Have Fun!
