It was a saturday evening in April for a celebration dinner. There were about 25 of us in one of the two side rooms and we could choose from a short but well chosen fixed menu. I had chicken liver pate for starters that was very tasty with a covering of port jelly(?) and a steak for main. Both were excellent and I have to say it was the best large group meal I have ever had. I ordered my steak medium and it was perfectly cooked. You could have taken pictures of it for the perfect medium steak magazine! The chips were fried in duck fat and were simply devine and very addictive. Lots of portions of the chips and fresh mixed veg so no one went hungry. The wine (I had red Argentinian Malbec) complemented the meal really well. The only very slight cristicism I had was that I was one of the few guests who chose the cheese board and the cheese was just too cold. However, the service throughout the meal was absolutely first class and just to add a touch of real understanding to the service at the end of the meal, the Remy glasses were warmed. . . . . each time. . . (so they wern't straight out of the dish washer!!)
On a final note, my wife had the vegetarian option for each course and really enjoyed it. I have unreservedly given this place 5 stars and I look forward to a repeat visit.
