Stayed there many times due to work nearby. It was no doubt a grand old place but is showing wear and tear now. For example - the giraffe-pattern carpet is something that never fails to make me laugh when i see it's still there. Some rooms have been updated and are fine. Some have not yet been done and they're a bit like a trip to Westcliffe/Southend in the 70's.
Good breakfast though, and friendly/helpful staff.
