I have stayed here quite a few times with work, when it was called the Whitehouse Hotel, we soon found out that you had to double check your bookings before you go as they have a habit of losing them, even though we had a fax that we had sent. The staff always seem a bit strange, like they don’t like guests staying as it stops them having fun, we stayed once and came back from Manchester about 11:45pm only to find the bar shut and the manager was refusing to open it for us, we had a bit of an argument with him and only after threatening him that we would not use the hotel again did he open the bar.the rooms are ok but be careful as they do get a lot of Manchester United fans stopping when the match is on mainly becuase of the location to the ground ( you can walk there in 15 minutes, as long as you dont get mugged on the way). The breakfasts had always been good but I do have one colleague who always has scrambled egg on toast but sometimes he could not get the staff to understand what he wanted and once after 10 minutes trying get though they still brought him out a full English. I can’t comment on the prices as I never paid for the stays and the beer tab always went on my room so it always looked high to me. But I would not stay here if I had to pay as it is to far from town.
