Hotel is located towards the end of a narrow dead-end road on the edge of a residential area. It is quite near a major junction of the A303 / A3093 roads, but cannot be accessed from there directly. The recommended route is north along the A3093 to the second roundabout, taking the first exit for London Road. This road twists about a bit and it is necessary to turn left and then sharp left again just before a Total petrol station into Micheldever Road. (No signage was visible). At the illuminated hotel sign, the entrance is a very narrow driveway on the right-hand side, after about a third of a mile. Hotel is in two separate buildings connected by a covered walkway. There are steps and or ramps between these buildings and access to rooms in the annexe require further steps to be negotiated. Reception, Bar and Restaurant are all in the main building, although the latter seems to have limited opening hours. Our room was a basic double with usual facilities. However, it was apparent that it was usually let as a 'single' as only one set of towels and one pack of biscuits on the courtesy tray were provided. Not a major issue since we arrived quite late. Courteous and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. Few other guests seen! Fit for purpose as an overnight stay on a longer journey and very quiet. Also likely to be suitable as a base for exploring the area - Stonehenge, Salisbury, Amesbury are nearby.
