Having lived in Hampshire up until 2 years ago, we decided to book here for 1 night so that we could attend our daughters 40th Birthday Party. We were put in a "chalet"outside, more of a shed. When we went to open the door, we had to walk through masses of cigarette ends outside of the room. When we went inside it smelt of stale smoke. The wallpaper was coming of the walls in serious need of painting and refurbishing. The pelmet over the door was hanging down, the curtain at the window was secured and each end but was hanging down in the middle, the other curtain wasn't there and we eventurally found it in the bottom of the wardrobe. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and you could write your name in the dust. To cap it all one of the feet had come ofoff the bottom of the bed so it listed to one side..

I declined and went back to the room (shed) and made a cup of tea. After about 20 minutes a gentlemen who said he was the owner, came over. He did not want to hear anything about the room but kept on asking us to follow him, so he took us to another room. At least the curtains fitted but the room was in dire need of refurbishment. The less said about the bathroom the better.
The attitude of the owner was unbelivable, he said we should expect cobwebs being in the country!
The whole experience has left and very bad taste in our mouths, and do not intend to visit again. I wish we had taken notice of previous comments.
We understand the rooms in the main building are better, but we have no way of backing this up as we...
