This is not the first time we have visited the Dog and Crook and nor will it be the last, Our previous visits have included a table for eight, when we first met our new Mexican in-laws, and they were very impressed with the food, service and 'typical English pub'. The welcome is always warm and friendly, nearly as warm as the open fire on cold evenings, the food is freshly cooked and delicious and I have it on good authority that the beer is well kept. The landlord/landlady work hard at being attentive without being over-bearing. There is an outdoor area plus garden if the weather ever lends itself to being able to sit outside.
One of my favourite places in the area.
