We had planned a 2 night stay for a birthday but ended up checking out after 1, in fact we only stayed that night as it was too late to go elsewhere. Issues were:
Greeting - reception desk was surrounded by a group of people sitting and drinking, fair enough on a fri pm bit not welcoming. The lady was quite abrupt and gave us vague directions to the room. Ok it was late..
Room - supposedly superior but cramped, sparse and crucially, not clean. Hairs in the bed, stained pillowcase and dressing gown, no sign of being vacuumed, dirty sink. We complained and the response was to change the bed, but some of the pillowcases brought weren't clean either. And were left outside the door!
Needless to say we didn't linger. Got a full refund but a very very disappointing experience from somewhere that has such high ratings.

Some times Sorry is not enough.Housekeeping slipped up bigtime for which I apologised to our guest the next morning.

All our guest comments about the rooms cleaniness are true and somehow a non serviced room was ticked off as serviced.The full extent not being revealed till next morning.As the hotel was full the oportunity to change rooms was not available
Of course our guest was given without hesitation a full refund.Compensation was offered but this was not taken up.
I don't wish to belittle the event but the room does have a wardrobe with drawers , sofa ,coffee table 26 inch tv and a king bed.The ensuite was with Double whirpool bath and shower.
Naturally all at Ormonde House are mortified that such a mistake happened and we will endeavour to learn from this awfull event and are sad that we ruined a couples weekend
