This hotel is an old converted manor quite nice from the outside but wait to see inside... First of all is connected to a pub/restaurant/carvery that serves fish and chips, burgers and beer all time. The smell that comes from the restaurant is disgusting and revolting. You will enter the hotel, walk in the corridors, sleep in the room, sit in the toilet continuosuly smelling the foulest odours that might come from such a place. Litterally the foul smell is embedded with the hotel: carpets, bed sheets, furnitures... revolting.
Talking about the room, if you like old 50s fake countryside details this is the place for you. Let's move on to the toilet which floor was sticky and which air was infested by the restaurant smell. I guess the fan was connected to the general ventilation system but our bathroom was smelling of fish and chips. The smell was so persistent that I thought it might be better to open the window but... the window was locked. Health and safety anyone?
When we came back after dinner in the corridor another smell substituted the fish and chips one: marijuana. All over the corridor coming from the room next to ours. Not owner's fault of course but I guess if the windows were able to be opened this problem could have been gone.
I strongly suggest to stay away from this place unless fish and chips is your favourite food also when you sleep.
