First class comfortable hotel on the edge of a National Park with informal bar and restaurant serving excellent local produce. Ideal centre for visitors to the Lancashire and the Fylde coast. The quiet village nearby grew up around the early 19th century paper mill, parts of which are still in use today. Return to the Calderbank at the end of your day to enjoy a glass of real ale in the country garden.

Calderbank is a beautiful Country Lodge with peacocks leisurely strolling the grounds. The bedroom and shower room were both clean and comfortable. There is a huge window in the bedroom so you can look out onto the idyllic countryside. The Proprietors, Rowland and Janet made us feel very welcomed. We are both vegan and they catered for our dietary requirements (in fact it was the best establishment we'd experience to cater for vegans). Calderbank is renowned for its restaurant and we had breakfast, evening meal and Sunday lunch (all vegan and delicious!). There are many walks one can take around the Fells and the scenery is breathtaking (ask Rowland for a complimentary map). It was a truly lovely experience and we highly recommend Calderbank.
