My finacee and I stayed for two nights to celebrate her birthday, and loved every minute.

The location is remote and stunning, the room we had was spacious and very stylishly furnished - very very high quality room for the money.

The menu on the large mirror in the bar is varied and the food and service was probably the best bit of our stay. Hearty food and excellent wines made for great evening after some walks.

The weather wasnt the best, but that's England and its a great place whatever the weather.

I would recommend this to anyone used to being disappointed by hotels and B&Bs in the Dales. This is the kind of quality you expect from a boutique hotel but with no pretentions, and the best value break I have had in a while.

Go there. You'll love it.

This place is the perfect place if you want to hide away from the world for a few days.
Within an hours drive of places to visit such as York and Leeds.
Or just have a walk locally through the hills and take in the fresh air and beautiful views.
Back in the hotel the accommodation is first class with Molton Brown toiletries and the softest ever cotten sheets.
Food - some of the best I have ever tasted! All from local farms and producers. They even know the farmers names!!
Overal this is an absolute diamond af a place!

This is without doubt the best pub that we have stayed at and have now stayed twice. Excellent accommodation, food, wine, beer and service. The setting is spectacular and the dog loves it!! Half board is great value.

If you want a relaxing break in beautiful countryside, in a fabulous traditional pub that offers delicious, fresh, varied food with a great wine selection and friendly staff (not to mention regulars) this is the place for you ! Accomodation wise, the standard is on a par with large 4-star hotels - book in the (new) extension if possible, although the original rooms are excellent and full of character. All rooms are individually decorated with a common theme of immaculate bedding & towels and powerful showers.

Food is beyond compare - fab puds and good vegetarian options.
