Conveniently situated by the roadside the Inn is full of character and clearly the owner goes to a lot of trouble to create a place people will want to come back to. A warm welcome on arrival and I had an upstairs room overlooking the fields and also the road. Room was spacious though the bathroom was a little small, but did the job! Only a shower not a bath. Toilet was rather noisy but I think that was because it was fitted with one of those macerators and it didn't last for long.
Nice choice of beers on tap and a lovely sofa to lounge, amongst other seats, while you were choosing dinner.
Dinner was simply superb, the portions ample and the flavouring excellent. Have not eaten as well for some time. Could not manage dessert! Worth making the detour in itself.
Breakfast was also delicious and more than sufficient.
Only downside was that with a room at the front you would find the occasional noise from passing cars a disturbance if you want the window open at night, I believe they have rooms at the back and separate from the Inn so I suggest choosing those during the summer.
But other than that no complaints and trust me, the food is scrumptious!
