I took my 11 year old niece who is a bit of a wimp for a day out. We actually had a lovely day - pretty good range of rides and attractions for all ages. I think if you were after big thrills alone you may be a little disappointed, especially with queue times, but for us it was not too bad as we went on some of the lesser thrill rides aswell, so did not quite the whole day in queues. Her favourite was the Stormforce 10 (log flume) with 3 different drops one of them backwards. Be aware though that you do get drenched totally on it. If you want a water ride where you just get splashed then the splash canyon is more for you. The food outlets were fine for what we wanted, plenty of choice and not too many queues despite it being Easter. The staff were generally good too - the ones on the stalls were not very busy really and they were cold!! But they still did their best when you wanted to play on one of the games. My main criticism would be the poor organisation at the kiosks to buy your tickets when you first get there. We expected to queue a lot for rides in the day, but not for 25 minutes simply to buy the entry tickets!! However, just make sure you get there early and you will be in the park before the rides open as the kiosks for tickets open earlier.
I had not been here since I was 15 years old myself, but it was a nice as I remember, if a bit smaller than I thought. However, this is good if you are only doing one day as you can get round it all in one day, unlike places like alton towers which are just too big.
