We selected Frimley Hall as the venue for our Wedding. It looked great inside and out, hover the service was terrible. What went wrong, where to start!
* A larger dressing room was and then later wasn’t available for the pre-wedding preparations. * I had to tell the Porter how the wedding cake was to be assembled. * The wedding co-ordinators were no where to be seen on the morning of the wedding and only appeared minutes before the ceremony. * The wedding co-ordinator kept leaving - we were on the 3rd by the time the wedding came around. * When our florist arrived at noon to prepare the tables for our reception they found the room (Frimley 1) had not been cleared from the previous evening debris - half eaten cake, beer glasses and a dirty carpet. * The Scottish Beef we chose for our main course was so under done that it bled, the veg was over cooked. * The cake had to be assembled by my friend and mother as it had not been finished off. * No porter was available to help the hairdresser with her equipment. * My wedding dress bag had been taken away by housekeep, and we had to track it down the morning after. * The breakfast the morning after was cold on scorching hot plates, the toast looked like it hadn’t even seen the toaster and it takes an age to get tea. * On top of it all my flowers were left in room 212 when we checked out, to never been seen again. To say we were disappointed in the level of service we received would be an understatement. When we highlighted these issue to the hotel we were offered a free dinner and overnight stay - which we will not be using. I never want to stay there again!!

“Relaxing Stay”

Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa

Our room was in the main house and although on the small side still big enough to have a small desk, chair and side chair. Pretty well appointed and everything but a room safe. The free internet is helpful for the traffic news back home.

We ate in the resturant which was very friendly and despite the limited menu, and small portions, it was extremely good food. The service was great and taking our coffees through to the Library Room to sit by the open fire was a nice way to wind down. Great wine list to go with it. Breakfast was a feast and everything was there from full english to cereals, pastries, juices, excellent.

The only gripe we had was the housekeeping service. After going out at 10.00am our room was not cleaned by our 2.30pm return. Another 30 mins wait later and it was still not ready and only after going to the room did we managed to get things finished. However reception redeemed themselves by delivering a bottle of wine on th house. Well done there.

The gym rooms are small but well equiped and the pool is good and has a steam and sauna as well. It gets a bit busy with families so proper swimming is limited but still possible.

All in all a really relaxing weekend and well worth a visit.

We stayed at Frimley Hall on a Saturday evening. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. This level of attention continued throughout or stay. We were a little worried it was going to be noisy as there was a wedding on, but we never heard a thing. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Would happily stay here again.

“Couldn't have been better!!”

We stayed at Frimley Hall for one night on the 22nd Feb this year. This was a complementary stay, and as such we were expecting the basics, but our expectations were met and exceeded!!!

From the moment we arrived we encountered pleasant and enthusiastic staff, who all seemed happy to do as much as possible to enhance our experience at the Hotel.

We had time for a swim before the evening started in the Spa, which was great and really relaxed us after our drive.

One thing which I ABSOLUTELY must rave about is the evening meal which we had on the Friday night. It was superb, in every way. The service was 1st class, and the food......!!! I don't think I can say enough about it in this review. My husband and I tried to think of any occasion in the past when we have had a better meal and we couldn't..... We asked the Waiter's advice on a drink to have with our coffee and he spent ages describing and recommending several options. He was so keen to make sure that we were having a good time...... and he couldn't have been more helpful....Very often when a meal is included in a Hotel stay it can be mediocre and nothing memorable, but on our return home from Frimley, it was the main thing we told everyone about.....so if you are looking to have a relaxing stay in a classy hotel, with amazing food and fine wines....look no further!

“Nice Time had by All - Great Spa!”

Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa

14 Nov 2007

I Booked this hotel for a Family birthday. It is hard enough finding a place to suit yourself let alone 7 other couples, especially when you read the varied hotel comments on Tripadvisor. So after much deliberation i finally choose Frimley Hall and i am really pleased i did.

The whole occasion went really well and the staff could not be more helpful. There were a few niggles but i think you get that with many hotels as everyones tastes and expectations are always so different. Our overall experience was very good. The rooms were nice and clean - not too small, with many little extras, iron & board, nice toiletries, robe and slippes and fully stocked minibar. The TV was an LCD flatscreen.

We were in the newer wing and not all the rooms we booked had a good view but again we did have just the basic rooms so you kind of expect that. The coridoors were hot as previously mentioned and the hotel is located within a housing estate but it is a very nice area with nice houses so don't be put off by this as i was initially. Once you enter the hotel grounds you wouldn't know.

We had a private fuction and the meal was not fantastic, but the service was very good. We never got to try the main restaurant for dinner but the breakfast was excellent, cooked to order with self service of cereals, fruit etc.

The Spa was lovely, My husband and I had a full body massage. Mine was the best ever and my husbands was OK, again these kind of things are always hit and miss dependant on the therapist.

Overall, I would go back to this hotel again if i was visiting the area and use it as a base but i may not if i was looking for a Romantic country retreat.
