Stayed here for one night when attending a re-union at the nearby Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Have stayed in a number of Premier Inns over the last few years and all have been extremely good. This one was also up to the same standard but with two exceptions.
The first was that on retiring to bed after supper we were confronted with an extremely loud outside continuous noise that seemed to come from the adjacent Rackstraws Restaurant (air conditioner or extractor fan?). It really made sleep impossible, even with the window shut. However, to be fair, on complaining to the Receptionist we were immediately offered another room and moved to it.
Sccond point. I had booked the room almost 4 months beforehand, but was a bit surprised to be allocated Room 54 which was at the furthest point one could be from the entrance and reception. Quite a trek. One would have thought the as bookings came in, allocations would be made starting nearest Reception and then moving further away. I asked the Receptionist about this but she could only say it was all done by a central computer and room allocation was not the responsibility of the staff at that particular hotel.
My advice. Don't end up in Room 54 unless the noise problem has been sorted out. However, I received a Travel Inn questionnaire on our stay by email to-day and have commented on the above. So perhaps both points will soon be sorted out.
However, having said that, we will continue to frequent Travel Inns.
