Working locally, my usual B&B could not accomodate me, so I stayed here for 2 nights in March. It's an impressive looking hotel from outside. Don't be fooled however. This is a shabby, tired and run down hotel, which thought was pretty grubby. I had a tiny single room, and sole use of a - dated and grubby bathroom and seperate WC across the hall. The whole place needs a complete facelift. I thought the standard of hotel VERY poor, the experience was depressing. In fairness the proprietors were reasonably friendly and obliging - I just think they don't know any better. The food was poor too, for example ,coffee from a machine, oven chips, and non brand breakfast cereals - ugh! Find somewhere better than this to stay - it does not reflect well on the standard of hotels/B&Bs in England.

A guest house at the best, upon arrival the lady on reception was too busy talking on the phone to great us, dinner (oh no) everyone down here comes for parties at the weekend, (so no dinner although this was clearly not stated within their web site) we hadn't although upon reflection I am glad we didn't have to eat there.
Sunday morning the children of the owners were loud and running run, please don't stay unless you want a half star guest house.

We stayed in this hotel on the basis of the review on tripadvisor. Big mistake!Hotel decor circa 70's which you can forgive if the room is clean but this was filthy. Toilet with carpet very dodgy shower unuseable so dirty. Suffice to say we did not shower during stay not pleasant on very hot day! Under radiator looked as if not vacumed in months and the radiator had some very dodgy looking stains on it! All in all needs complete upgrading. On the plus side staff were very pleasant. We could have done without the loud radio blaring in the area under our room at 7.45 on a Sunday morning.
