“dont count on breakfast”

Kingston Lodge Hotel

22 Aug 2007

hotel was in good location and the rooms where pleasant enough. the down fall is the resturant service and bar service. no one seems to man the bar and as for breakfast you will be lucky if you get one. just like faulty towers no tables cleared no hot breakfast prepared everything hap hazard . no one takes responsibility and when customers complained no one bothered in fact its as if your lying as no one takes any notice.i was told at half past eleven all the breakfast was now there as if you would want one when you wanted breakfast at nine. therefore my rating would be two out of ten.

“Quite nice, really”

Kingston Lodge Hotel

19 Jul 2007

I've stayed here a couple of times now on business and the Kingston Lodge has always been reasonably good. It's got everything you need for a few nights away with work or on a leisure break, as there are plenty of attractions nearby and is conveniently situated for Kingston, Richmond, Hampton Park, Teddington areas. Plenty of parking, a cosy bar, food available most times of the times - bar, restaurant and room service. Bedrooms are very comfortable, with all the things you'd expect for the price. Service can be slow, partiularly at check-out etc, I nearly gave up paying for some bar food and asked for it to be added to my bill, which I think they forgot! Read other postings here about inaccurate credit-card billing, so beware. Lots of very friendly staff, who are eager to please - but many had problems mastering the language, which I think contributes to most of the problems!

“Not impressed”

Not impressed.
Only stayed one night- thank goodness, as the room was stuffy, there was a constant noise from outside which sounded like some sort of electric motor, and coulld clearly hear othe rguests using the foot well which was next to my room. Should have complained.
The breakfast was poor in quality and quite possibly not cooked properly- which is being polite. The good things about this hotel are it is reasonably close to some London attractions, free parking, and if you get a better located room than mine is reasonably priced. I didn't eat at this hotel, but can recomend the pub down the hill for good bar meals and a decent pint.

“Style of an English Country Inn on edge of London”

Kingston Lodge Hotel

24 Feb 2007

The hotel had the charm of an English Country Inn yet its on the fringe of London.
The major thought we took away with us from our 2-night stay was the friendly staff - always smiling. Apparently the general manager has only been there a couple of months as has clearly chosen some good new staff.
The room was adequate in size (typical UK), clean bright and with all the required facilities. Only downside was that the TV was too large !! Worth noting that if there is a party in the function room, it can be a little noisy until midnight.
The lounge/bar area allowed for small intimate parties as well as larger groups - the bar area dates back to the 1600's.
The restaurant food was absolutely superb - that chef knows how to present quality English food to perfection and wine prices are reasonable.
We will be back.

“Good midweek experience for family”

We stayed for one night while attending an event in the hotel. The staff were helpful and the room fine. It's not perfect (worn carpet, dirty iron and ironing board, etc.) but the minor problems didn't distract from an enjoyable stay. The best feature was that our room was a good size, and above our expectations (like a lot of people we've had too many poor experiences in boxy rip-off hotels - a feature of travelling in the UK). We took our six week old baby with us, and the room was just fine - lots of space for a crib and a very comfortable bed for tired adults. We paid £85 midweek (including cooked breakfast which we had served in our room), and I think better deals are available, but we would happily stay again.
