“far nicer than expected”

I recently stayed at the Bridge house whilst away on business. There was little choice of hotels in the area and I have to admit I was slightly apprehensive about my stay after seeing some of the photos on the internet. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised and impressed on opening the door to my bedroom, it had recently been refurbished and was very modern. Nice LCD TV and free broadband in the rooms, plus ironing board and hairdryer. Communal areas were quite tired in parts, didn't eat there so can't comment on food. Staff were ok, not overly friendly. My room was above motorway, so didn't get much sleep. But overall hotel was nice and would go back.

Thank you for your review and it is great to see that the most recent ones reflect the changes we are making on behalf of the owners.
Regarding the public areas, we are nearing the end of our refurbishment programme which means that by mid may we will have refurbished and air conditioned every bedroom, meeting room, function room and restaurant. We will have also refurbished the restaurant, toilets, recption, bar, corridors and kitchen. ie it will basically be a new hotel compared to the one that was there again.
Feedback is always welcome and its great for the team to have their progress recognised.
Thank you

“Great Restaurant and Excellent rooms”

The Bridge House Hotel

4 Dec 2007

The staff in the restaurant are just superb. The service is great and the food is outstanding.

the refurbished rooms are the best, actually better than any 4 star hotel in Surrey. I have been to selsdon Park hotel in Croydon (4 star) but on the contrary the room in this hotel are far excellent than the 3 star standards. It even beats the 4 star standards.

Beats the reigate manor hotel and the nut field priory hotels.

“Hole in the bathroom floor!!!!!”

I would not stay at this hotel until the renovations are finished as it represents VERY POOR value for money £105 per double room inc full breakfast.
Room 27 looks very tired with the bathroom in a very poor state even a hole in the floor, one of the tooth glass holders about to fall off the wall.
The bedding is all too small for the size of the bed which led to a fitful nights sleep.
If you are thinking of staying here make sure that you get a renovated room (a few weeks away at the moment)

I must agree with the previous review. If you are thinking of staying here....think again. My room had a two tone bathroom suite…..mostly avocado with a white cistern The floor in the bathroom sank an inch if stepped on and the toilet bowl came perilously close to overflowing.

I have attached a picture of the ladies toilet in the bar (taken by a colleague) which is a fetching shade of two tone pink. Think Crossroads (not the revamped series but the original) or Bates Motel and you just about have it..

You reach the rooms by crossing the dance floor and then have a 5 minute hike up and down stairs if you have one of the farther rooms. The restaurant staff on a morning were headed by a young man with a pork pie hat a la Madness which was novel headwaiters uniform. It took 15 minutes to get a cup of tea.

I was booked in for two nights but after breakfast decided that enough was enough and checked out. Never again!!
