“A Relaxing Country Escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2010

On arriving, we were instantly impressed by this magnificent country house, the beautiful and extensive gardens, and the warmth of our host. Peter was friendly, interesting and highly entertaining, keeping the perfect balance between leaving us to our devices and being always on hand to help out when necessary (including helping to tie my cravat on the morning of the wedding!). The house had wonderful charm and character throughout, whilst our bedroom was clean, well-presented and with a large walk-in shower ensuite. The weekend was hugely enjoyable, but nothing can beat the breakfasts served each morning, offering everything and as much as you could want - the Full English was especially good and, without exaggeration, perhaps the best I've had! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

“Home away from home......couldn't have asked for more!”

My friends, boyfriend and I booked to stay at the Arundel Holt Court primarily due to it's proximity to the village where our friends were getting married. However, the b&b also looked and sounded lovely and we were all really looking forward to staying there together in the b&bs 3 rooms.

When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome by Pete and the dogs, Rosie, Daisy and Minnie the puppy, who we all fell in love with! The b&b is situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside and you couldn't wish for a more idyllic location.

Our room was quaint and the views were absolutely spectacular. Fresh jugs of water and milk were provided, along with a kettle, tea, coffee and an assortment of hot chocolates which was great. We had our own ensuite bathroom and fresh towels were waiting there for us.

The house itself is ramshackled and quirky with modern features residing happily alongside more traditional pieces. We loved it.

The grounds are beautiful and there is a ping-pong table and swimming pool (which was understandably covered as it is still a tad cold for outdoor swimming!) and we were encouraged to treat the grounds as our own. We could not have been made to feel more comfortable. We had a picnic and the boys all enjoyed using the ping-pong table before we headed off for the wedding.

Pete gave us a great recommendation for dinner and drinks in a local pub and we weren't disappointed!

Breakfast was around a large dining table and consisted of a variety of yummy food that was in adundance. There was a choice of cereals and yoghurts; toast; hot-cross buns and then the main event......the scrambled egg! I had scrambled eggs on an English muffin with grilled tomato and the most deliciously seasoned mushrooms I think I've ever tasted! The rest of my friends either had the full English or the house speciality, scrambled egg with smoked salmon, which both looked scrumptious.

Pete and Monique gave us such a fantastic experience and we really couldn't have asked for more. It felt like we were visiting a friend's parents house and I can't wait to stay there again in the future.

“Beautiful B&B in the depths of the sussex landscape”

The house is beautiful with a vast rustic sitting room and a massive open garden. Sitting atop a hill in the woodland it is quiet and secluded, surrounded by twisting leafy lanes (you'll need a car!). Peter and Monique are very welcoming and the rooms are clean and newly decorated. Really good fresh cooked breakfast - you won't leave the dining room feeling hungry.
Overall, the setting is idylic for the summer, the food is great, the rooms beautiful and the owners are friendly accomodating!
