As a young person (aged 28) who had never visited this area of the world before I was initially unsure as to what to expect. I was welcomed with the warmest of hospitality by the lady who runs this delightful b&b cottage who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of excellent! The cottage has all mod cons, t,v, internet access, a 'library' of books to suit any interests, a cosy yet spacious living/dining area, a (fully stocked) kitchen, a lovely bedroom complete with a very comfortable double bed with plenty of storage room and a large ensuite bathroom. The cottage leads out directly to the private garden which is quite simply beautiful. Tastefully yet quirkily decorated throughout and very reasonably priced I cannot imagine anyone of any age having anything less than a thoroughly enjoyable stay here!
The cottage itself is situated in the very heart of Petworth which is a stunning little town with the friendliest and most helpful people you are likely to meet. Aside from the many antique shops on offer ( and a very yummy fish and chip shop!) the cottage is also on the door step of Petworth House and Park. This is a National Trust property that is well worth a visit! Anyone who is interested in history, fine art, sculpture, architecture or a rambling walk around the 700 acre deer park, lake and pleasure ground then Petworth is the place for you. I could not recommend this B&B, the surroundings and the people highly enough!
