I stayed at this hotel for business. I've stayed here before, but the hotels age is starting to show. The staff was friendly but the rooms really need to be remodeled. The TV in the room looked like something I have stored in the basement waiting for the next garage sale. The bathroom and the amenities were more like what you would find at a budget hotel. The bed was nice though. I doubt if I will stay here again.

An enjoyable stay in OK City. The room was clean, especially the bathroom, and nicely made-up. Comfortable bed and the hotel provided the extra pillows as requested. Check-in was smooth and the staff was helpful and friendly. Overall, a nice experience.

“Not up to Marriott Standards”

Courtyard Oklahoma City Northwest

It was an ok stay but was not up to Marriott standards, in my opinion. The rooms were standard and clean. I will say the security guard was incredibly rude - stayed in town for a ball tournament and I will say there were lots of kids in the hotel. I witnessed him yelling at the kids. My opinion, take it up with the parents and shame on them for letting them run wild! Not a great neighborhood - there was a guy in the parking lot asking for money - quarters, dimes - whatever he could get. That was a little freaky! Not somewhere I would stay if I was traveling alone!

We stayed 3 nights at the Marriott in July 2006. We had a room with 2 double beds - we are a family of four with two boys, aged 11 and 6.

The front desk staff was very friendly though we had the same problem as some others with staff being more attentive to conversations with other staff than with us. Room and bathroom were clean, decor was not fancy but not bad. A/C worked fine but a little noisy. Maid service was prompt - didn't clean everything but got the important stuff.

Pool was small (indoors) but kids loved it. We didn't feel "on display" although there are glass windows to the hallway by the elevators. You can't get back in through the pool door to the outside so you have to prop it open if you want back in but area outside door is secure from outside - there's another locking door from parking lot to outside pool area.

Need to clarify parking issue. The parking lot in front of the hotel is small, most parking is in back but there is a locked door in back of building leading to pool/courtyard area and another locked door leading to building from back lot. You need your room key to enter the back pool/courtyard area and building. Parking lot is well lighted and hotel is in a good part of town so I wasn't worried.

Did not have breakfast in hotel ($8.95 buffet). IHOP is best option and located just around corner. Don't go the Jimmy's Egg - used to be a good diner but the food was awful. French toast was burned on outside and soggy on inside - yuck!

Another problem was access to this hotel. It's fine if you want to make a right turn onto NW Highway out of the property but you can't go left unless you go the wrong way on a short one way street by the McDonald's to get to the street light in front of the bank building. Otherwise you have to go all the way around the block to make a left.

Good room for the money.

“Very Nice Courtyard”

Courtyard Oklahoma City Northwest

24 Jul 2006
3/3 found this review helpful

My family and I recently stayed for 5 nights at this Marriott Courtyard and were very happy with the hotel. The front desk personnel are truly amazing, and they were all so friendly and accomodating. We never encountered anyone that wasn't ready to help you in any way. The room was great (we had 2 queen beds), and the bathroom was spotless. The only negative I have is the shower/tub is so very small that I don't think a large person could fit in the tub should they decide to take a bath. But, even taking a shower was a little difficult as the tub curves on the sides quite a bit so you have only a small level area to stand. The hotel was about as quiet as any hotel would be. The place is immaculate. Never ate breakfast and they had a buffet for $8.95 a person. There is an IHOP just behind the hotel which is probably a better deal. If you walk down the side of the hotel, you wouldn't even have to drive there. The one BIG negative is the parking. If you don't get a space up front, then you have to park in back, and the doors into the hotel are on the side. If I had been traveling by myself without my husband, not sure what I would have done; probably parked illegally out front or asked someone to escort me. It isn't that the hotel is in a bad part of town (it isn't), but it just doesn't feel safe for a woman to have to walk late at night in that situation. Great Place to Stay, and I would highly recommend it.
