A standard size room is larger than many other hotels’ standard size room. The rooms were very clean.
Front desk staff was sassy. Took a long time to check out.
Employees who work at the hotel smoking outside the entrance of the Hotel. One employee used vulgar language in responding to a challenging guest situation. Hotel not very receptive to assisting when there is a problem to be corrected.

Valet parking. One valet attendant, first name, James, was very nice and respectful. Another valet attendant was rude. Many times valet parking was not available and the guest had to park their vehicle themselves and/or walk and get their vehicle themselves. Valet service is not very secure. Valet does not always lock the vehicle after they park it in the outside public parking lot. The valet employees hang the guests’ keys on a board in a small room and do not shut the door to the room. Many times the valet is not in the vicinity of the room that contains the keys. Anyone could quickly walk into the room and grab someone’s car keys and go to that vehicle and steal. Not recommended to utilize the valet parking.

Bell staff to assist with luggage. Bell staff were not always available. Cart to transport luggage to and from your room was not always available. Restaurant in the hotel was expensive.
Lounge/bar in the hotel.

Shuttle service available but service not dependable..

The hotel is very old. The hotel is not decorated very well. No bath tub in the standard size room.

Catering service for family groups and reunions, weddings, etc is available. Catered food was good.
Initially, the catering service was challenging/frustrating to deal with in regards to planning a gathering. However, shortly before the date, the catering service hired a new director of catering. The new director did a good job.

Hotel does not have a manager on duty except regular weekday working hours. During our weekend stay at the hotel, an issue arose that required speaking with the general manager (someone’s car was not locked after it was valet parked and there might have been identity theft). The general manager was contacted and became upset because he stated that he does not work on weekends and he refused to cooperate and stated he would deal with the issue on Monday during his work hours.

We splashed out on two nights in this nicely restored hotel, which we chose as a result of reviews on Tripadvisor and pictures etc on the hotel's own web site.

Arrived on Sunday to find the centre of Oklahoma City pretty dead (as it was on Monday and Tuesday too!).

The hotel is smart; we found the staff more than helpful and courteous and the room magnificent. Our only criticism was there we no hooks for the supplied dressing gowns or our coats and no shelves in the bathroom to put out your bathroom-type stuff. From our 11th(?) floor room we could keep an eye on our car in the car park immediately behind; don't bother with valet parking - it's so close anyway.

Oh, and the "pod" coffee machine was a complete and utter waste of space.

We did not eat in the hotel. The wonderful Bricktown is a short walk away (we felt perfectly safe) with its huge choice of restaurants and its must-take boat ride.

And we had a best-ever-value breakfast in a Chinese buffet hidden away under one of the nearby office-blocks. Do try and find it; unbelievable value.

We drove out to the Stockyards (don't bother) and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum (absolutely fabulous) as well as the Oklahoma State Capitol (well worth a visit).

We very much enjoyed our stay here and will come back again some day.

“Nice room, Horrible service”

Colcord Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Colcord the night of the Michael Buble concert. The problems started before we even arrived. The night before our stay I called to confirm the type of room and rate I had requested months before. When the woman answered the phone she was talking extremely fast and cut me off mid sentence "thinking" she was answering my question... she wasn't. Had she waited for me to finish my question, I wouldn't have had to repeat myself. She was rude.

Upon checking in the rudeness continued from the same blonde I spoke with on the phone. She informed me that the vallet service was "busy" and may not help my husband and I. Thank you very much. She also informed us about the Restaurant Soliel yet neglected to inform us they had NO available tables for the evening. When I called down to the front desk to ask about breakfast in the morning, you know the one that comes with your stay... she told me it was until 11:00 am... it wasn't thought. It was until 8:30. Once again, thank you for your "help"

They neglected to provide turn down service, I could go on. The room was nice but the situations left such a taste in my mouth. I will never return. I plan to try the Skirvin next time...

I stayed at the Colcord Hotel for a one night, two day meeting. There is a history with the Colcord that gives it some character. The high rise building was a hotel many years ago, set vacant for an extended period of time, and then remodeled to become the Colcord. As a result of the age of this building it doesn't have the overall space one would expect for a hotel of the Colcord's class. It is a fine property that has an excellent staff. The rooms are futuristic in style. All have a flat screen television and beds that don't have a box spring. The shower/bathtub is one that has a permanent half glass for the door, so you have to stand toward the front of area. The floor was wet following my shower as there is no way to close the door on the remaining half of the exposed tub. Make note of the parking is in the rear of the hotel. They do offer valet, but it is also in the back of the hotel. My only complaint of the Colcord is the complimentary wireless internet. It is available, and my computer did find the signal, but the strength was extremely poor. I never had a signal higher than 22%. I would stay here again. There is a small exercise facility and on site restaurant that provides room service.

“The Colcord is Fantastic”

Colcord Hotel

Oklahoma City may not be known for being the center of sleekness and style--at least that's the word I heard from some of the down-to-earth locals with whom I spoke--but the Colcord Hotel exudes just that.

The rooms are spacious and sophisticated; and unlike other hotels that may have a wonderful history but are showing their age, everything but the building is brand new.

Rates may seem a bit pricey, but it's worth the $50-75 extra dollars over the McMarriotts to have a memorable experience. For dining and nightlife, Bricktown is very close. Parking is on-site and reasonable.
