My daughter and I planned a girls weekend staying in the city, and spending a day at the Omniplex when we found a really great deal at the Marriott. For $99 a night, you got a room and choice of two tickets to YOUR CHOICE of 7 listed attractions, including the Omniplex. With Omniplex admission at $12.50 adults and $10.50 for kids I thought this was a really great deal. We booked it for two nights, thinking we would then get to go to the Omniplex plus another attraction. When we checked in, I asked about the tickets, and nobody knew where they were. They did say that they get an alloted amount and the choice of tickets is from what's left and to check back later. When we called back, they said they only had three attractions left, none of which a nine year old would enjoy. They offered to take $10 off the price. Not even the price of one childs ticket to the Omniplex. We thought about checking out early, but decided to stick it out. Otherwise we'd have to spend a day trying to find another hotel. When I told my mother what was happening, she called and pretended to be a potential customer and asked about the tickets, and they told her, she could have her choice of all 7 attractions. Nothing about "Choice of what was available". The next morning, we awoke, and as it was a much brighter day out, when we opened the curtains, we saw what we had just slept in. There was what appeared to be urine all over the bottom of one entire wall. When we looked closer, we saw splattered blood on the wall next to the entertainment center, and to make matters worse, when we looked at the curtains, there was what looked like vomit staining the bottom of the curtains! The real kicker was when my daughter looked at the desk chair, and said, "Ewww there's stuff on the chair like they find on CSI when they use the blue light". Translation: There was what looked like ------ on the chair! The carpet was strange feeling too, so we wore our house shoes and the shade on the floor lamp had very odd stains on it as well . We decided to check out for sure!
The only reason I didn't give our stay a Terrible rating, was because the manager did appologize a lot, and take $50 off our bill. I would have much rather had the weekend we had planned however.
I'm sure this must have been a fluke, but I would really suggest looking closely at the room before taking it. Just an FYI, we stayed in room 1022.
