I used to live in Stillwater; and when I moved here, the only hotel was the Best Western and the scary local hotels which are not really for me. When this hotel went up, there was a lot of buzz. I had visitors either stay here or the OSU campus hotel (which is great). I moved out of my house, and had to stay in Stillwater an extra day, so I stayed here. Everyone was very friendly; great pool (they provide some lounges and toys for the kids), great whirlpool, very clean. Everyone said hello when I was in the lobby. The room was large and clean. Internet was free. Breakfast was OK- probably better to grab some coffee and a bagel and go to I-Hop, but the lobby area is great. I usually met some out-of-state colleagues here for breakfast, they liked the lobby or eating by the pool area. They are building a cute koi (fish) pond by the pool. I likely won't return to this city, but if I do I'll stay here. If it's booked, there are a few more going up that should be new and OK (Microtel and one by the Panera Bread).
Also FYI- this hotel is next to a Hobby Lobby (if you haven't visited, you need to, esp during any holiday), Bath and Body Works (very friendly salespeople), some clothing stores, and a Best Buy. Braum's ice cream (if you haven't visited, you are missing out) and a Blockbuster are walking distance. Also, you can see the OSU stadium from the hotel parking lot; you could walk there if there was a big game-- everyone parks in the Food Pyramid lot anyway. Noone really walks on the streets of Stillwater, if you want to do that, go to Boomer Lake. Also- don't miss out on Walls.
