We stayed at the Featherbed Inn for one night. The room was terribly dirty and I was worried to get into the hot tub for fear that it was not clean.
The toilet plugged up on us and we could not get anyone to answer the bell. I managed to get it unplugged so that ended up o.k.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable so we got very little sleep and we sleep in a soft bed at home so soft was nothing new. Sagging however was.
In the morning I went to checkout and could not get anyone to answer the bell once again. I left a note with my thoughts about the room and how unsatisfied we were.
Now, here is the most incredible thing. About four days later I got a letter from the Featherbed Inn and I am thinking oh great they wrote me to yell at me for the letter that I had left. Upon opening it, however, I found a very sincere apology with a check for the full refund of our stay. My thoughts are this, maybe I should have went right to mngmt. when we got to the room and discussed this with them. It seems to me that they are trying to run a reputable business and take care of their guests as well. If I was to need a hotel room in this city again I would probably stay there again, do to the fact that she was very sincere in her apology of the condition of the room and she was going to deal with the "cleaning" person that had created the issue.

My wife and I were on a multi week hiking trip in the Northwest and stayed here after some time at Redwood and Crater Lake.

The hotel was not the most amazing place, the floor was somewhat dirty, but after all that hiking, we didn't really care. The bath fixtures were old, but clean. The towels were cheap, but clean.

The beds were the highlight of the room. We did get a great night's sleep, although there is a good bit of highway noise.

The town of Chemult is really cute and so is this hotel, at least until you get inside of your room!! My room was really, really dirty. The bed appeared to be clean as did the towels, but the floors were filthy and honestly my skin was crawling the entire night. There are a few other hotels in this town and I recommend checking those out before you stay at the Featherbed.

I chose this hotel because they allow dogs, but being that it was 90++ degrees outside and the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, my dog was miserable and extremely hot the entire time.

On the upside, the internet worked well, the TV has lots of channels and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

The FeatherBed is cheap, but I still think that for $50 the floors should be clean and the place should be dusted!!

Feather bed inn is a one star motel with no AAA approval. The rooms are roadside motel rooms, low ceiling, old baths, mattresses low-quality soft with feather tops. The usables were clean, although the room could use a through cleaning. It is between a very busy highway and railway, lots of noise. It is a small place but no one can say it is quite. Trucks exercise their brakes all night. The road to national park is straight with speed limit 55 but everybody does 65-70, so 1/2 hour to 45 minutes drive can get you to the rim. Next time we won't be staying here...
