Wonderful LITTLE town perfectly located if you want to visit the John Day Fossil Beds. Fascinating two old buildings for the inn. We stayed upstairs in the older building. Roomy and cozy rooms with lovely beds and quilts. Antiques everywhere. Fantastic breakfast. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The place smells old and mustly, small bugs were present in the bathroom, the carpets could use a good cleaning but we still loved it - what can you expect for a 100+ year old building. The metal sculpted woolly mammoth out front is a hoot!

Fossil is a quiet and peaceful little town. It's so quiet that you can hear almost everything happening in the town!!! We stayed Bridge Creek Flora Inn's victorian room with a shared bathroom, but there are rooms with private bathrooms at the Fossil Lodge (the same owner). Owner cooked and served the best hot breakfast I ever had at a B&B. If I have a chance to visit that area again, I will definitely stay here again.
