My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Old Parkdale Inn. The inn's setting is spectacular--it seems like you can touch Mount Hood from her front porch. The rooms are thoughtfully and warmly decorated, comfortable, and well-equipped with niceties such as a microwave, fridge, and a few dishes to make one feel at home.
The house is cozy, and the town of Parkdale is nice and small. There is a brewpub (only option for food in town) a few steps from the inn that serves good beer and decent food.
Mary was very hospitable, and the breakfasts were delicious and varied. We visited after the year's first snowstorm, so we did not spend much time at the inn after breakfast or in the evening; however, it appeared that the grounds were nice and would have been a good location for lounging on a warmer evening.
Overall, the experience and the accommodations were above our expectations. This inn is a fabulous base for exploring the Mount Hood area that surrounds it.
