We had a wonderful two-night stay in the beautifully renovated Old Parkdale Inn. We stayed in the Georgia O'Keeffe room, which was both spacious and comfortable (it even included a small kitchenette). The first thing that the eyes see when waking up in the morning is the splendid silhouette of Mount Hood just a few miles away; this breathtaking view alone is worth the trip to the Old Parkdale Inn. Our room also featured nice little "perks" such as copies of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings on the wall, a collection of books related to this painter, a DVD collection (…along with pop-corns ready to be prepared in the microwave installed in the kitchenette!). Anything else? Yes, the breakfast: we do not have enough words to describe the feast prepared by the manager Mary Pellegrini herself every morning: wonderful and delicious are simply not enough! In short: an extraordinary experience in a very charming B&B!

I am very surprised to read a review just three months ago saying that the rooms were not spacious and that there was no communal sitting area. We sat in a communal sitting area inside, and there were also several offerrings outside. We had two of the three rooms available, so I can't speak for the third, but the O'Keefe Suite was VERY spacious. The Gauguin Room was less so, but not cramped. The rooms had lots of decorative touches, and we did not feel anything was lacking. Our host was super nice and helpful, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The only downside was that the town itself was void of much activity, and we wound up driving back to Mt. Hood for a good dinner (Crazy Pepper Cantina, very good). I don't think we could have found a nicer place to stay in the area.

You won't be disappointed staying in this lovely inn in the foothills of Mount Hood. The dog-friendly property is large and invites exploring. Mary is gracious and provides an excellent breakfast for her guests in her newly remodeled kitchen and dining room. Future guests can look forward to exciting improvements to this B&B.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay with a fantastic host.
From here you can tour the Hood River Valley by Car or Bike.
