As a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest program, I have stayed at quite a few Starwood properties. My husband and I were worried about this one, based on our past experiences at Four Points hotels and the low category rating on Starwood's website.

However, from the second we walked through the door, we were extremely satisfied with our choice. The staff was very friendly and professional, the rooms were very clean and quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the extra touches of a free bottle of water and free New York Times newspapers were very appreciated. It is convenient to the highway, but a 10-15min drive to downtown. If you are going to the airport or the Gorge, it is a very convenient location. We definitely liked the hotel and will stay there again on future trips to Portland.

This hotel was perfectly situated for visiting the Columbia River Gorge and driving the Mt. Hood/Fruit Loop. We had no problems with the staff - they were terrific - and our rooms were perfect (large, clean). The only "problem" was that the continental breakfast is pretty lacking and we ended up eating in the on-site restaurant - which may have been what they really wanted in the first place to make more money. The food in the restaurant was good, however, no complaints there.

When I stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton, I expected the same quality and professionalism that all Starwood Hotels are known for. Well, it seemed that with all the ammenities and low price that I came across a special property. This was true, until I showed up and found out I had booked the wrong room type. Then, the girl at the front desk, (Amy) started rambling on about how much her co-workers screwed up along with more gossip about them that I didn't need to hear. It took forever to check me in because she was babbling on and on about random gossip, as well as how she was looking for a new job, when all I wanted was to relax in the comfort of my room. Then, I went to my room, and realized the internet didn't work in that room. I called down to the desk and she she talked to me like I was child. Finally, Amy came to the room with a new cord, which she should have done to begin with. I don't think you should bring your bad attitude to work with you. All in all, I think the customer service a hotel provides says a lot about the business. I was very dissapointed in seeing how the desk clerks operate at this hotel.

This Hotel is a Great Value for the money! Rooms were clean, comfortable and there was little traffic noise from the nearby thoroughfare. The location is very convenient and right off I-84. Plus, it's only a quick jump from the Columbia Gorge Highway, a must see! Friendly staff, too....
