Very interesting and informative. We had a guided tour--which was wonderful. I highly recommend taking the guided tour if it is being offered. This took approximately hour.. You learn so much about the family that lived here and the home.
Also, if you want to pack a picnic lunch you can eat lunch on the grounds (i am pretty sure this is without having to pay the admission fee to the home) and have a great view of portland. We picked up sandwiches and ate them while looking down over downtown. It was probably the best view in the city.
I would not recommend taking the gray line tour to this house if you want to take a guided tour--gray line does not give you enough time. We saw the gray line tour people come in do a quick race through the home and then run out.
