Stayed at the La Quinta for one night on May 17th. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the airport. Very easy to find as it's right off the freeway. Had a room that faced the freeway and was woken up a few times by traffic noise.

A complimentary breakfast is provided but it was hard finding a seat as the dining area is very small and the hotel was fully booked. This also meant waiting a long time for the elevator.

There is a indoor pool and gym but I didn't use those facilities. The room has a mini fridge and microwave for those that wish to save on their food costs. The hotel is good if you need a clean comfortable place to stay.

We stayed here the night before me left Portland. It's close to the airport and eventhough planes fly right over, we didn't hear any noise from them. The room was clean, comfortable, and provided everything we needed in a place to stay. They had a nice continental breakfast (Bagels, Waffles, Juice, etc) and allowed dogs, which was critical since we had Bailey with us (~40+ lb lab mix). Rated it as "Above Average" only because it wasn't fantastic, but it provided everything we needed. Would recommend.

We decided to stay at the La Quinta after finding a great rate thanks to TripAdvisor.com. We were more than pleased with our accommodations which consisted of a queen bed, mini frig and microwave. This hotel is fairly new and is well maintained. The staff was very professional and courteous and were more than happy to shuttle us to the airport to catch the MAX train when we wanted to go into downtown Portland. Considering how close the hotel is to the airport, we were very surprised at how quiet it was once you were inside. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at La Quinta in early August for 3 nights. This must be one of PDX's best kept secrets, as I have nothing but good things to say about the place. We were thrilled to have wireless internet service in our room, a HUGE complimentary breakfast spread, and all the friendliness we could absorb (even housekeeping was upbeat and friendly). Their overwhelming friendliness is what puts this place over the top.
Another positive is its closeness to the Max transit line (only 1 block away). As all 3 lines go into the station, we were able to catch the lightrail with wait times of less than 5 minutes each time we used it (which was a lot).
The only cons i can think of would be:
1. our key card was CONSTANTLY de-magnitizing itself (it seemed to have a 2 hour period of working before it stopped)...this was annoying, but I can deal.
2. the area is a bit of a convention wasteland ...we got in late our first night (9:30pm) and were surpised that EVERTHING around the hotel (which is not alot, mind you) closed at 10pm..everything but Denny's....Thus, our first night in the gastronaumic heaven that is Portland, we had Denny's ceasar salad...

Aside from those 2 minor things, I was more than pleased to spend $76 dollars a night at this place. (check the convention center's web site for similar deals)
