I spent a week recently at Sunriver resort. And while I wish I could recommend this place as there are many nice things about it, the experience I had interacting with the resort staff was quite dreadful.
After a week's stay at the resort, I departed the hotel with wife and family in tow. I realized 2 hours after leaving that i had left behind my bluetooth headset. I immediatly tried to contact the hotel to let them know, telling them exactly where I had left it in the desk drawer next to the bed, and ask them to retrieve it and send it to me.
They have made it very hard to find a direct number to the front desk, and all callas have to be routed through a menu to get to a reservations desk. From there, I was transferred to the housekeeping and lost and found, to a voice message box where I left all of the details and asked to be called back. The next day I had not received a call back, so I called again. Still no person, just another unanswered voice message.
On the 3rd day I finally spoke to a person who said that they would immediately check it out. No call back. On the 4th day I called again, left a message in the same mailbox, then called back and asked for the head of the department to speak to. No person, just another voice mail box.
On the 5th day i spoke to someone who said they needed to talk with someone, but they were not there for two days, and that I should call back. Yes, they told me I should call back again. She said that they had found some kind of adapter (so of course I figured they had it and were storing it waiting for a guest to remember they had left something behind, instead of calling them in the first place)
On the 7th day I called back and spoke to someone who was supposed to be the head of lost and found, who said that they would go take a look at the room and see if it was there. Unbelievably they said they had not looked in the room at all.
Finally I had it and went to the head of the resort and left a voice message. I got a call back from someone later that day saying that they were sorry, but they had just looked in the room and there was nothing there. No sorry, nothing. End of conversation.
While the dollar value of the headset was not a lot, the resorts lack of responsiveness and follow-up is very diasppointing for a guest that spent almost a week at the resort.
