We booked this hotel for a getaway weekend when we were unable to find any available hotel rooms in the city of Pittsburgh for the weekend. Even though the website said there were no available king rooms, the front desk was able to grant our request by calling them before we got there. We were given a room on the concierge level which was extremely quiet and relaxing. We had dinner at the hotel the first evening and were extremely pleased with our dinner and our waitress. After being gone most of the second day and coming back late in the evening from the city, we could see that there were a couple of functions still going on. We never heard any sounds from these functions or in the hallway. The beds are extremely comfortable (we are big fans of the Westin's Heavenly beds) and we were very pleased with the entire hotel. We ordered breakfast in our room the last morning - it was just ordinary; but it was better than rushing down to the dining room to eat. We will definitely be back.

We just completed a one night stay at this hotel Friday, September 29. Check in was quick and painless, the hotel staff are very friendly, considerate, and thorough. My rate on my confirmation totally matched the bill so that was great! The room was very nice - it had two double beds, a nice sized bathroom, a desk area and a closet. No mini bar. We had coffee making accessories in the room, but no cream and sugar for the coffee. Bathroom was clean, shower very nice, and nice complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. We used express checkout and that was painless too. I found the beds very comfortable, but my sister thought they were too soft. Also, she shared the bed with her 9 year old daughter, and she felt she didn't have enough room.

The location is great - lots of places to eat if you don't want to eat at the restaurant. In the morning, they have a complementary coffee bar with coffee, decaf and assorted teas. The lobby is beautiful with a wonderful fountain. Fitness room was very large and had lots of equipment, the indoor pool looked very nice too.

This hotel has most of the comforts you'd expect from a Marriott.
The rooms were a good size (we had 2 adjoining), clean, nicely decorated and with VERY COMFORTABLE beds. We enjoyed the lap pool and found it to be very clean and the temperature just right.
My only suggestion would be to add makeup mirrors in the bathrooms. Other hotels in this quality range have them.
This was our second visit, to this hotel, and it wouldn't be our last.

“No clean bathrooms anywhere?”

Pittsburgh Marriott North

9 May 2006

Having stayed at this location before, I was surprised to find the bathroom dirty during my last stay. It was not just the tub (which was gross), but the floor and sink areas were not clean. The rug were also in need of attention especially around the window and bed areas which had a lot of dust. I complained and was moved to another room which also had a dirty tub. At that point, I just went to bed and cleaned the tub myself the next day.

The staff did try to help but why not just get the cleaning staff to clean?

Room service was excellent - the food and the service was exceptional. While the kids menu offered no real nutrition for kids, the main entree's were good enough and the staff will honor any special requests.

Overall, it was ok. We just really like to arrive at a hotel without our cleaning supplies...
