Unfortunately I must add a dissenting review- I feel obliged since I stayed here based on the stellar reviews on tripadvisor. We stayed in the top floor large double room on a chilly spring night. When Christine showed us the room I mentioned it was cold and touched the radiator, wondering why it was off. She brought in a space heater (mentioning nothing about the radiator) which was weak and whose short cord placed it nowhere near the bed. The bed was quite soft and not to my liking, and that combined with the coldness made it hard to sleep. The other rooms upstairs were equally cold and had badly peeling paint. Our room also had a couple of insects that I believe are called stinkbugs in the old window frames- drafty and probably the source of the chilliness. My husband discovered the thermostat downstairs turned off, he turned it up just enough so that heat turned on, but in a few hours (by 5 a.m.) I woke up cold and we discovered someone had again turned it off. He turned it up again, when we went downstairs for breakfast, it was again off. there was only one other room occupied when we were there and they did not touch it, apparently. If Christine is charging us that much for a room surely she can afford some extra dollars from our bill to put towards heating costs. We will not return.
