Stayed here several times. During the first visit I wasn't sure if we'd return as there were some problems, but we decided to give the palce another chance.

Our first stay we were on the second floor, not a big deal except we were travelling with a toddler and toddlers don't know how to travel light AND this hotel has no elevator. our room was kind of smokey and LOUD. We heard traffic from the interstate nonstop and in the middle of the night were kept awake by barking dogs and loud guests.

We decided to give the place another try a couple months later and it was much better. We got a first floor room which we were able to park right near. We faced away from the highway, and the room had minimal (if any, smoke smell.

We did find an occasional hair in the bathroom, however I know how hard it is to get every hair cleaned up - I've worked in a hotel AND have long hair that falls out frequently - so if I see ONE hair once in a while it doesn't send me into a tail-spin.

Overall, you're going to get a clean, comfortable room at a decent price. There is no breakfast (they do have coffee, tea, hot chocolate and so on in the lobby) but there is a McDonalds right nearby (walking distance). I don't believe there is a pool here either.

We stayed here on our way through to Ohio. There is not much else between Buffalo and Erie.

Hotel is right beside the I90, so beware if you are a light sleeper. In the parking lot, you could literally feel the wind of the trucks going by.

We booked a King room and it smelled heavily of stale smoke. We were too tired to get another room, but told the clerk who knocked $25 off the room. Regular rate was $65 (including tax), which seemd decent.

Would recommend this hotel for travellers only.

We stay at this property quite a bit when visiting relatives in Erie, PA. The rooms are always clean and the staff friendly. There are bascially 2 room flavors. Rooms on the second floor have interior hallways and are slightly larger than the first floor rooms. First floor rooms have doors leading directly to the outside and are smaller. However, both flavors work for us and I don't prefer one to the other. We do request a room on the opposite side of the hotel away from the highway because I-90 is fairly close and fairly busy. The white noise of the AC or heater helps to curb the traffic noise if you are on the highway side. Because Erie is a tourist spot in summer, weekend hotel prices will flucuate widely. For example, we booked over labor day and the price was $99/night. The following weekend the price dropped by almost half. The best value is during the winter months when the price is very reasonable. Of course, Erie gets a billion feet of snow in the winter and one would expect the prices to drop during non peak times. We've stayed at quite a few hotels in Erie and this property is a better value than many of the other Erie hotels off the highway. Erie attractions near the hotel include a slots casino with horse racing (less than a mile), Presque Isle park on Lake Erie (accesible by car or water taxi), Waldamere Amusement Park/Water Park, and Splash Lagoon Water Park off I-90. Erie has a good assortment of locally owned restaurants and we never eat at chain places when we visit. One place we always try to visit is Sara's near the pennisula. It is a little 50's style hamburger/ hot dog joint with great hot dogs and onion rings. We often carry out and have a picnic at Presque Isle. I'm certain we'll stay at the Red Roof Inn again.

For the money it's a good place to stay over night, the rooms are new and very clean the beds are comfortable. The only drawback is the highway side of the hotel is very noisy with all the trucks flying down the interstate. Ask for a room on the other side on the second floor it is alot quieter.

This was our first stop on our way to Pittsburgh. It was already a long drive as there was a one hour wait at the Canada/US border crossing at the Peace Bridge. We were looking forward to a good night's rest.

The room was recently updated and looked good for the price we paid. We got a King bed for $65 US after tax. The room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable.

The only issue was locating the hotel. You have to drive through the parking lot of the McDonald's to get to the hotel. We used directions from CAA but there was no street sign. We turned on the next street only to find a dead end and no access to Red Roof. When we tried to turn around and go back the way we came, there was a no exit sign and had to use another side street to exit.

It was convenient to have the McDonald's for fast food right next door.

As for the noise complaint of the highway, you couldn't hear it if you had the A/C on. If you're used to having no noise, then I'd recommend a room on the other side of the hotel.

There was plenty of parking and we were able to park our car right in front of our room since we were on the ground floor.

Considering the price, I thought it was a very good value due to the location and the updated room.
