My partner and I stayed at the angel for two nights in July 2012. We had the 'partridge' room and couldn't have been more pleased. Check in was dealt with by a very pleasant lady, the room was a lovely size, with a comfy bed, sofa, TV, tea and coffee facilities, vanity unit an wardrobe. The building retains its original character and is very pretty. The en suite was again large and scrupulously clean. The shower was powerful and the bath full size. My only complaint is the socket positions made it difficult to see in a mirror when blow drying my hair.
We ate dinner one night in the restaurant and found it lively and the food was excellent. There is a good wine choice and the service was very good, attentive without being overbearing. I had the daily special which was fish, it was cooked very well and the side dishes complimented it well. The second night we just had drinks in the bar but again found it lively with both guests and locals mingling in the bar.
The breakfast is served until 0930 and is cooked fresh to your order, the quality of produce is high and there is a wide variety too choose from.
All in all we had a wonderful stay here and would not hesitate to return. The hotel is near Warminster in a beautiful rural location, convenient for Salisbury, Warminster and longleat safari park!
