By hotel standards , the room on the top floor was a good size and included a sofa. Bathroom also a convenient useable size and functional . Stayed for 3 nights and given the modest amount we paid - GBP 15 on one night, the hotel provided comfortable , secure accommodation. A pub next door, a few good resturants ( Indian ) within 10 min walk, convenient public transport with buses opposite the hotel running every 20 mins or so for the 10-15 min trip into Manchester centre. Hotel also very easy to find if driving by car. The receptionist was a grump but countering that were the 2 house-keeping staff that were very friendly and helpful. Praise is justified . Bed made , new towels, coffee etc and rubbish emptied every day during our stay. The room was clean although it was showing some wear and tear from continual use. Only complaint was that we were there during unseasonably hot weather end Sept, the room faced west, and with no air - con or even a GBP 10 pedsetal fan in the room , it was like a sauna early evenings. The other issue , it seems common to all Travelodge hotels was the poor quality of the bed - soft and saggy. Pillows were also a joke. No excuse for that and it is time Travelodge addressed this issue . Summing up, we would stay there again and in rating the service , value etc , I have taken into account the money paid.
