“Past its sell-by date”

Wembley Plaza

You'll be disappointed if you stay here. It's branded 'Hilton' but that chain seem to keep pretty quiet about it.

Only a few miles from central London it may be, but half an hour on the tube (packed most of the day) and then a bus ride. This concrete 60s block its situated in the middle of a derelict building site, surrounded by a dodgy area of town. You wouldn't want to walk back here on your own at night.

First impression is the smashed front door, then a fairly smart foyer with charming staff. But it's all downhill again from there on. The TV doesn't work properly, the room smells, but worst of all there's no aircon and no windows that open. Only a desk fan they obviously bought recently during a heat wave when people probably resorted to sleeping in the corridor.

The furniture in the room looks like cardboard, there's no safe and no minibar. But at least it's cheap? No - not even that. Avoid.

I've read the previous reviews and maybe we've been lucky but I thought this hotel was a good three star hotel. The room we stayed in was clean and had decent furniture. The mattresses were great and the sheets were very clean. We had bed and breakfast and I have to say that besides the coffee they serve in the morning ( makes you want to run around London ) , the food was actually very good. The hotel staff was kind and friendly, and honoured all our requests like lower floor, wakeup calls taxi’s etc… Overall a random good hotel!

Stayed at this hotel purely for convenience of the Statium due to an event we attended, also family stayed there so made sense to go there too.

Great reception, superb room., singey hospitality tray, too many Earl grey tea bags (eww) only 2 x normal tea bags, not enough milks, petty I know but these things count!

Paid alot of many for a double room, when going to breakfast found breakfast not included, was not informed of this at reception on arrival, was hungry so paid £12.95 each! for the worst breakfast we have ever had, would have found fresher and better quality from McDonalds.

Would never stay here again!

“Very VEry tired”

I have often used the bar at this hotel prior to an event at Wembey but we opted to stay over so we could relax before and after a concert. For that purpose alone it is ok but more I would baulk at because it is looking very very tired. It starts with no use of the "Hilton" name on the front, you see "Plaza" which is confusing. Tthe reception desk does show the Hilton name on the rear wall, near to pealing wallpaer and stained carpets. That about sets the tone going to the room. The lifts were quite battered and once in the room there was a slight damp smell in the bathroom, nothing serious alone but by this time I was getting a little concerned. The windows of the room also were "grungy", not good english but just about the correct word. Otherwise the room was clean. The bed was a tad bouncy but nothing to cause lack of sleep. Having paid online with an advance rate weget a room at 40% of the price displayed behind the counter. I think we had about decent value, but the full rate would have been a joke. The Ibis next door is newer and cheaper, so maybe worth a look. I won't do this hotel again.

“Only Ok - not good value”

Wembley Plaza

6 Jun 2007

Stayed here Friday 1st June for England v Brazil match, i wanted something close by to the stadium to avoid the crowds after tha game,so was initially happy the hotel was available so close to the match.

However when checking in i was asked if I wanted an upgrade to a better room for £20

The room rate of £179 was high for this of standard of hotel, it is looking a bit tired - for not much more you can stay in some great accomodation in central london

Good location for Wembley stadium and only a few minutes walk from Wembley stadium rail station - Chiltern line.

Lot of building work still going on around stadium so views not great.

Overall you can get better value for a quick one night stay

i will be visiting Wembley for future England games but will look for better value
