My wife and I stayed in the Melyn Cottage for a short stay. In my opinion this truly is 5 star accommodation, the rooms are tastefully decorated and have all the mod cons you need. There is a log burner, but we didn’t need to use it as the central heating was enough to keep the cottage warm. The view from the patio looks out over a stream, field and river allowing you to relax and take in the peaceful country air. The accommodation owners Ivan and Carolyn are extremely nice people and made us feel welcome. Ivan makes his own Cornish produce, including Chutney, Jam and Mustard as well as offering free range eggs from his own hens. This is where I discovered Cornish Runner Bean Chutney, I only now wish I brought more back with me.

Berrio has got to be our greatest find in the UK. There aren't many places that you can catch, cook and eat a sea trout all in the space of 15 minutes. Ivan and Carolyn are excellent hosts who are understandably proud of and enjoy sharing their beautiful environment. The fresh produce from Berrio itself and the meat from the local butchers mean that cooking can become a great hokliday pastime.
This has got to be one of the most relaxing places in the world and we are already planning next years trip

Berrio Mill did it all for us. Complete relaxation overlooking fields and a river with the mill leat trickling by our patio. The cottage was fully equipped, right down to an electric whisk to make a cake using eggs from the free range hens at Berrio Mill.
They make wonderful chutneys, mustards and preserves. We also bought some exceptional honey produced by the owners bees at Berrio Mill. They provided details where to get local meat and other groceries. They have even created a habitat above their home for bats. Where else can you look out of you window and see a kingfisher looking for its dinner? We are ready to go back again as soon as we can.
