Yes, it's in a strange location (behind the shopping center), but fully up-to-date, modern, clean, and friendly staff when you go inside. Many restaurants close by (e.g. < 1 mile). 5 miles east of airport on way to PIT downtown. My room was huge-king non-smoking (514 near the elevator). The middle rooms are the largest and get smaller as you get to the ends of the building. Also a huge flat screen TV. Work desk, fridge, couch, and lots of space. My room looked very new---don't know if they've had a re-model or not. I did not hear anyone outside my room. The fan was a little noisy, but you could turn it down or off if you wanted.
Breakfast was more upscale than most hotels in this class. They also had a bar area in the lobby where you could get beer/wine or coffee drinks. This area also served as the breakfast area in the morning. They had a limited selection of hot and cold food you could order. We had the spinach/artichoke dip to go with our Corona's and it was better than I expected.
I'll stay here again instead of the Hampton Inn-Greentree where I'd previously stayed. Only draw-back was the traffic going into downtown---need to allow for 1 hour if during rush hour (e.g. 7-9 am). Non-rush hour is no problem though. Oh, just thought of another drawback---there are no sidewalks on the roads around here, so when I went out to run in the morning, I pretty much had to just run around the shopping center parking lot. They do have an indoor pool and fitness center, but I didn't use them.
Sorry to hear some others had different experience, four of us stayed here on this trip and we all had good experience with our room, service and amenities. We'll be back.
The larger rooms are in the center of the building. Higher floors have nice views.
